Navy and blush

I had been waiting for a wedding project basically all year so when Sarah and Callum approached me to get help for their big day I was very excited and felt honoured they would trust me with such a big task. In an initial meeting we mapped out a budget and planned all the things the happy couple needed. We talked about menus and brainstormed ideas for all kind of signs like a welcome board or a menu for the cake table.

In the end my to-do list included a two sided menu, a welcome sign, signs for the gift table, the cake table and the photo booth, and little comment cards for the guests to fill out, as well as the name tags for all guests.

Previous to working with me, Sarah and Callum had already chosen the design for their invitations. So while designing the wedding stationery I chose to stick to the same colour palette, combining a dark and elegant navy blue, with greyish and lighter hues of blue, blush and peach colours. I wanted to combine a thick and slightly messy hand lettering with paint splashes, strokes and lots of white space.

In the end everything came perfectly together, the menus were printed on cool white Rives Shetland paper, which has an unusual texture, almost like woven fine fabric running across its surface which looked beautiful on the thoughtfully decorated tables. The handwritten name tags fitted so well with the little cutlery and napkin packages, which also included a wooden pen and the comment card. And the big “Sarah & Callum” sign was just the right splash of colour in the otherwise very sleek and elegant reception room.
I am very pleased with the result and I enjoyed this project to much, hopefully there will be some more wedding for me on the plan in 2018.

Last but not least I want to share what Sarah and Callum have said about my work .
“Working with Katrin was an absolute dream – she instantly understood the vibe of our wedding and was more than happy to make small edits to the designs until we were totally happy. From the signage and comment cards, to the handwritten labels for each guest, the quality of her work was amazing and we had so many compliments from guests on the day“
